GYPI

*Global Youth Patent Index (GYPI)* is a historical step. It fills a "missing link" in current metrics: while HCI and PISA measure *readiness* (potential and skill), a Youth Patent Index measures *actualized innovation* (output).

### 1. The Value Add: Why it matters

GYPI index  provides the "missing peak" to the current mountain of child development data:

* *From Literacy to Invention:* PISA tells us if a 15-year-old can read a manual; GYPI index tells us if they can write a new one. It shifts the narrative from children being "beneficiaries of education" to "contributors to the economy."

* *A "Leading Indicator" for GII( Global Innovation Index):* There is likely a massive correlation between high Youth Patenting and a country’s future GII rank 10 years later. It identifies "Innovation Hotspots" before they show up in GDP data.

* *Incentivizing Intellectual Property (IP) Literacy:* By tracking this, you encourage countries to teach IP rights in schools, not just coding or science.

#### *GYPI Strengths*

* *Unique Data Point:* No one currently aggregates patent data specifically by the age of the inventor on a global scale.

* *High Political Appeal:* Governments love metrics that show their youth are "future-ready."

* *Inspiration Factor:* It highlights young "prodigy" inventors, creating role models that are more tech-focused than traditional celebrities.

### 3. How to Integrate it with HCI and PISA

1. *HCI + GYPI:* Use the Human Capital Index as the "Input." If a country has a high HCI but zero Youth Patents, their education system is "Academic but not Creative."

2. *PISA + GYPI:* Compare PISA Science scores to your Patent Index. This reveals *"Practical Application Efficiency"*—how well students turn classroom science into legal intellectual property.

NOTE   DUE TO LIMITED AUTHENTIC DATA AVAILABILITY . WE ARE USING ABSOLUTE NUMBERS OF PATENT FILED UNDER THE GYPI. WE WILL BE REQUESTING PATENT OFFFICES TO INCLUDE A FILED ( BELOW 18)  TO TRACK THE CHILDREN PATENT.

DISCLAIMER : THE AUTHOR AND OWNER OF THE PAGE ARE DOING THIS IN GOOD FAITH . THEY ARE NOT LIABLE FOR POTENTIAL ISSUES, INACCURACIES OR DAMAGES FROM INFORMATION OR ADVICE PROVIDED.

As  this process of data collection is going to take some time  and our basic intention is not to sell anything based on this GYPI, we are using the absolute number of patent filed by children.

As the data become available in coming days the GYPI will be calculated based on the three sub-pillars:

* *Pillar A: Volume (The Quantity):* Number of patents filed by under-18s per 100,000 students.

* *Pillar B: Quality (The Impact):* How many of these patents are actually granted or cited by others later.

* *Pillar C: Ecosystem (The Support):* Does the country have "Minor-friendly" patent laws or reduced filing fees
