Why Innovation Gallery?

The Innovation Gallery is established to address a critical cultural and economic gap in India.

  • Driving Cultural Change: Innovation is the engine for growth. The gallery aims to drive a cultural shift toward original, inclusive innovation.

  • A "Live" Space for the Future: While Asia has many museums showcasing history, there is a lack of "live" galleries to showcase near-future technology products and services.

  • Economic Growth through IP: Intellectual Property (IP) is a key metric for innovation. By using benchmarks like the U.S. economy—where IP-intensive industries account for 38% of GDP—the gallery seeks to boost India's economic growth through strong IPR protection.

  • Filling the Visibility Gap: Currently, innovators have limited and often expensive opportunities to showcase their work, usually restricted to temporary displays at trade fairs or expos.

  • Strategic Leadership in Nagpur: Nagpur is positioned as a potential "Innovation Capital" due to its central location, connectivity, and the willingness of political leadership to drive innovation.

What It Does

The Innovation Gallery acts as a powerful "engine" to facilitate the entire innovation lifecycle.

  • IPR Protection and Awareness: It provides a platform to protect innovations through patents. The gallery and the Ready2Innovate (R2iW) forum conduct extensive IPR awareness sessions for many  Schools, MSME and stratups.

  • Commercialization and Technology Transfer: It facilitates the commercialization of inventions from individual innovators, MSMEs, and academia. For example, it has already initiated technology transfer deals between Indian and German companies.

  • Global Exposure: The gallery connects local innovators with international stakeholders, such as hosting German business delegations and coordinating participation in international business events like 'H2O' in Italy.

  • Collaboration Platform: It hosts "I4 Meets" (Inventor-Institute-Investor-Industry) to encourage the exchange of ideas and industry collaborations.

  • Support for Local Solutions: The gallery highlights and promotes solutions for local problems, such as a herbal antidote for the 'Pink Bollworm' affecting cotton farmers.
